Founded in London to fix a broken market.
House Russell was founded in London out of a straightforward observation: sunglasses were either overpriced designer names selling on logo alone, or disposable pairs that scratched and snapped within a season. There was nothing built to last that didn't cost a fortune to own.
We set out to close that gap. Working with the same acetate and lens suppliers used by the big fashion houses, but without the licensing markup, we built a small collection of frames priced for people who wanted their sunglasses to actually hold up — not just look good in a shop window. That's still the whole idea behind House Russell today.

Eyewear built to be worn, not replaced.
House Russell started with a simple frustration: most sunglasses are designed to be disposable. We wanted to make the opposite — a small, considered collection of frames cut from premium Italian acetate and solid metal, built to hold up to years of daily wear.
Every pair in the collection is designed in-house, fitted with polarized or mirrored lenses, and finished by hand before it ships. We keep the range to ten styles at a time. No seasonal drops, no seven products under nearly identical names — just a wardrobe of shapes worth owning.

Materials
Built from what actually lasts.
Every frame starts with high-quality Italian acetate — a plant-based material prized for its depth of color and the way it wears in, not out. Where we use plastics, we choose them deliberately: recycled polycarbonate (PC) for strength and shatter resistance, Cellulose Propionate (CP) for a lightweight, hypoallergenic feel, and TR90 for the flex and memory that keep temples true to shape after years of daily use.
None of these are picked to cut cost. Each material is matched to the part of the frame it plays best in, so the finished pair holds its shape, its color, and its fit for the long run.
